Hi, I’m Cappy. Which is better: pressure-treated or cedar? That’s a great question.
Pressure-treated is more budget-friendly, chemically treated to be insect and rot-resistant, and holds up well over time. A fine choice. You will want to paint or stain it, though, because after a few years, well, the color looks like an old tree. And I’ve noticed that pressure-treated does tend to warp, twist, and crack more than cedar.
Cedar is a fantastic option, but it will cost you a few more nuts. It doesn’t warp, twist, and crack as much, and sometimes has a beautiful reddish tint when you add a clear stain. It stays pretty for a long time, too.
Both are great choices, with cedar having the edge. Plus, cedar smells good and feels better on my toes! Contact the Capitol Fence team to learn more about our wood fencing options. Have a furry day!
